HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Sunday, January 28, marks 1 year since Hawaii News Now launched its weekend morning show Sunrise Weekends!

To mark the special occasion, Uni Sweets Bakery & Tea co-founder Fiona Yang and owner/baker Lily Li brought the Sunrise Weekends crew a custom-made passionfruit cake designed with the Sunrise logo. Injection Moulding

They also brought their signature 25-layer ube mille crepe cake, matcha strawberry shortcake, strawberry cakes for Valentine’s Day, and Super Bowl-themed chocolate cake. They also make assorted milk teas.

Li handcrafts fusion cakes, desserts and pastries, blending traditional French style, Japanese techniques and Asian ingredients, such as ube, Uji matcha, brown sugar boba, taro, sesame, durian, jasmine green tea, salted egg yolk, and pork sung.

“Our desserts are traditional yet quirky,” Yang said. “Our mission is to use high-quality ingredients to make delicious but affordable products. We are also trying to use local products and support local vendors.”

The shop is located at 1810 N. King St. in Kalihi and open daily 11 a.m.- 8 p.m..
